I wonder if you would still say that if a multi millionaire immigrant was to offer to buy one of the islands for a kings ransom and it meant the money you got would mean that your children would never starve again for the rest of their lives. What good is an island to you or anyone if you can't eat?

There is plenty of evidence that the Greeks will SAY almost anything… When you say it shows how far he is prepared to go, you are confusing words and actions.

The new announcement of a massive privatisation is another ruse. It goes like this. “We are prepared to sell ANYTHING. But no one will buy because people say we might leave the euro. So, we can’t actually sell anything, but that someone else’s fault. Accordingly, they must cover our debts. And they must stop saying we might have to leave the euro.”
It is fairly clever positioning, but surely Helsinki and Berlin will see through it?
